Why work with Kathryn?

Been There, Done It.

I have worked full-time for nearly 40 years in a variety of professional jobs and in a range of organisations, in the UK, USA and Europe. In fact, it’s probably harder to find a job I haven’t done! Teenagers say they love hearing my work stories – good and bad- because their teachers and career advisers often don’t yet have this breadth of experience.

Well Qualified

Trained teacher, corporate trainer, mentor and coach. Specialist in vocational education for 14- to 19-year-olds. Enhanced DBS clearance. Teenagers are safe in my hands. They like the clear boundaries that I set with them and appreciate my expertise in checking that learning has taken place.

Infectiously Enthusiastic

I am great at motivating those who are stuck and am skilled in building confidence and self-belief in others. I am a high-achiever with autism and so am living proof that the seemingly impossible career dream can be reached. Teenagers like my straight-forward, authentic approach and can connect to my absolute belief in each one of them to achieve their goals. My psychologist describes me as a ‘remarkable woman.’

Skilled & Committed Coach

I use my coaching skills to guide young people towards the best career for them. I don’t just deliver a bit of information and clear off, I stay with them until they achieve success. I never give up on any child, no matter the challenges. I support their career-finding journey for as long as I am needed. Many of my clients keep in touch with me years after they have entered the world of work. Some are now senior managers, but still find it useful to have the odd coaching session when they face challenges in the workplace. Mine is a life-long passion and commitment.

Self-Actualisation

I love what I do! There is nothing better than watching an anxious and confused 15-year-old turn into someone who smashes every job interview they attend, ends up in a career that they are passionate about and goes beyond everyone’s expectations of them. I get immense job-satisfaction in being able to use a life-time’s worth of career experience and knowledge for the benefit of the next generation and a brighter future.

The boys have really benefited from the career coaching programme. Kathryn has a great way about her and has really challenged them.

Clearly the boys got a lot out of this, including the one who got the apprenticeship!

Deputy Head, Harvey Grammar School

I have recently applied for a part-time job so am hoping to be able to use the STAR method in an interview! Thank you for all the guidance over the 4 weeks of coaching. I have found it really helpful in gaining some clarity over the next steps in my career path.

Sixth Form Student

Just wanted to say thank you for getting my son onto this programme. He has really enjoyed it and seems to have got a lot from it. Yesterday he had a personal one-to-one, coaching session, which he really appreciated.
